Dock Frames
The drawing above shows a small cross section (vertical interior
view) of our extruded aluminum frame. These 10 1/2 inch frames
are made with high quality marine grade aluminum (6061 and 6005
T6) that is extruded into single continuous pieces (up to 32 feet
long) to create an extremely strong and supportive (yet lightweight)
truss. Our unique patented design features four longitudinal nut
channels that allow easy assembly of any dock section using 3/8
inch stainless steel bolts. The bolts connect to square nuts that
can be placed anywhere along each channel by inserting the nut
and "flipping" it into position. Once in place, each
nut is held securely within the channel and cannot be turned.
The left foreground of this drawing illustrates the lip that
supports the decking on the top side of the dock. There is also
a lip on the bottom side that holds the floats in place. Because
the lips on each side of the frame are different sizes, the whole
thing is reversible. The lip on one side accommodates 5/4 inch
decking, and the lip on the other side accommodates 2 inch dimensional
decking.
Every componant of the Eco-Flote System, including corners, cross
bracing, support channels, floats, decking, and accessories are
all connected to this basic frame to create a fully assembled
dock section.
Frames are available (assembled or unassembled) in 3 different
widths: 4-wide (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 feet long), 6-wide
(8, 12, 16, 20, 24, and 28 feet long), 8-wide (8, 12, 16, and
20 feet long).
External Connector Plate
Our
External Connector Plates are used to link dock sections together
and are included with every dock. Straight plates are used to
create continues runs and L-shaped plates are used to create T'All
of our dock sections can be connected internally using the internal
nut channels, but these external plates offer and quicker, stronger,
and more accessible alternative to inside connections. The plates
are made from 1/8 inch thick 6005 aluminum bar stock and measure
21 inches long and 6 1/2 inches wide. They mount into both the
upper and lower external nut channels of each dock section using
four bolts. To protect swimmers and boats, the plates can easily
be covered by our horizontal mooring bumper.
